The Opportunity  
We are seeking a Law Clerk to join our highly regarded General Insurance team in Brisbane on a 4 day per week basis.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual looking to gain exposure to general insurance matters and litigation while developing their legal and professional skills within a national law firm. Working closely with experienced lawyers and partners, you will gain valuable exposure to motor vehicle, liability and insurance disputes while developing your legal and professional skills within a national law firm.
 
Your Role
As a Law Clerk, you will play an important role in supporting the team and assisting with the efficient progression of matters. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing legal documents, correspondence and court materials.
• Managing court deadlines, key dates and diary commitments.
• Assisting with file management, including opening, maintaining and closing matters.
• Drafting and preparing briefs to Counsel and other matter-related documentation.
• Supporting lawyers across motor vehicle, property damage, liability and recovery matters.
• Assisting with evidence gathering and document management.
• Preparing and processing billing and other financial administration tasks.
• Managing incoming correspondence, calls and stakeholder enquiries.
• Maintaining accurate electronic filing systems and matter records.
• Providing administrative and practice support to lawyers and partners within the team.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in a Law Clerk, Paralegal or legal support role.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• A proactive, professional and team focused approach.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• A genuine interest in litigation and general insurance law.

Desirable

• Previous experience within a legal environment.
• Exposure to court processes, litigation or dispute resolution.
• Familiarity with legal practice management systems and billing processes.
• Experience supporting insurance, litigation, personal injury or commercial dispute teams.
• Current studies towards a Bachelor of Laws or related qualification.
