The Opportunity 
We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Employers Liability team in Sydney on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive legal support professional to work closely with lawyers and partners across a range of workers compensation matters. You will play a critical role in supporting the progression of matters, managing key deadlines and helping to deliver exceptional client service.

Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will gain valuable exposure to litigation matters while developing your legal support skills and building a rewarding career within a national law firm.

Your Role

• Prepare legal documents, correspondence and court materials.
• Coordinate briefs to Counsel and other matter related documentation.
• Support lawyers in the progression of employers liability and workplace injury matters.
• Manage court deadlines, diaries and key dates.
• Prepare and process billing and other financial administration tasks.
• Open, maintain and close files in accordance with firm procedures.
• Manage incoming calls, correspondence and stakeholder enquiries.
• Maintain accurate electronic filing systems and matter records.
• Provide administrative and practice support to lawyers and the wider team.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or administrative support role.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• A proactive, responsive and team focused approach.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Desirable

• Experience within a legal or professional services environment.
• Exposure to billing processes and legal practice management systems.
• Familiarity with court documentation and litigation processes.
• Experience supporting insurance, workers compensation or litigation teams.
