Finance Manager, Sports, Central London, £60-65,000
 
We're working with an exciting, fast-scaling sports business looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Finance Manager to join and help shape a growing finance function.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a broad role offering genuine ownership across financial operations, management reporting, technical accounting, budgeting, forecasting and finance systems.
 
The role
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while playing a key role in building the processes, controls and reporting infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Owning AP, AR, expenses, banking and balance sheet reconciliations
• Leading the month-end close and management accounts, including meaningful variance analysis
• Managing 13-week and 12-month cash forecasting
• Supporting budgets, reforecasts and departmental spend reviews
• Preparing FRS 102 financial statements and supporting the annual audit
• Providing financial insight and analysis to senior stakeholders, including the Board and Audit & Risk Committee
• Improving finance systems, processes and controls as the business scales
• Supporting commercial projects, risk management and wider strategic initiatives

 
What we're looking for

• We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a genuinely commercial mindset.
• You'll ideally have:
• Strong experience across management accounts, financial reporting and cash forecasting
• Solid FRS 102 knowledge and confidence around accounting judgements
• Experience within a start-up, scale-up or high-growth environment
• Excellent Excel and financial systems capability
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership and make things happen
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Ideally, experience within Sports, Media or Entertainment
