Management Accountant
Location: North West London (In-office 5 days a week)
Salary: £55,000–£65,000
  
About the Opportunity
  
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a fast-growing international retail and e-commerce business based in North West London. The role will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information across the UK and US entities, with responsibility for month-end accounting, management reporting, financial analysis, financial controls and the continued improvement of finance processes.
  
The successful candidate will also take ownership of the AP and AR functions, ensuring efficient processes, strong controls and accurate financial data, while working closely with stakeholders across the wider business.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve the AP and AR functions, ensuring efficient processes, strong financial controls and accurate financial records.
• Oversee AP/AR processes, including invoice processing, payment runs, customer invoicing, aged creditor/debtor reviews and resolution of supplier and customer queries.
• Support and provide guidance to the AP/AR Assistant where required.
• Take ownership of key areas of the month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain monthly management accounts and financial reporting, ensuring information is accurate and delivered on time.
• Analyse financial results, identifying variances, trends and areas requiring further investigation.
• Complete bank, balance sheet, payroll, VAT and corporate card reconciliations across UK and US entities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, including tracking business and employee costs against budget.
• Maintain strong financial controls and support audit preparation, including the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
• Oversee payroll accounting processes, including payroll journals and reconciliation of payroll, PAYE, pension and benefit control accounts.
• Support UK VAT, payroll and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Drive process improvements and automation across the finance function, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting and controls.
• Provide financial insight and support to senior stakeholders across the business.

  
Skills & Experience

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant.
• 4+ years' experience in a management accounting, finance management or similar role.
• Strong understanding of month-end accounting, management reporting and reconciliations.
• Experience overseeing AP and AR processes and improving financial controls.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience driving process improvements and automation.
• Experience within retail, fashion, e-commerce or consumer brands is desirable.
• Experience working across UK and US entities is desirable.
