Our client is a Media and Marketing agency who require a Interim Financial Controller to take ownership for Year-End. This is a senior stand-alone role with no direct reports and you will be required for a minimum of 3 months to support during a busy year-end period.
The role will start in March 2026 (or at the latest early April 2026).
You will have ownership of their up-coming audit and this involves coordinating and engaging with multiple stakeholders. As you will be working with a range of individuals in the audit planning and delivery, communication skills are key.
About the Role
As the key point of contact to the auditors, you will take lead on year-end and the following tasks:
- Ownership of year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax return reporting
- You will be the main point of contact for the external auditors
- Project manage, and co-ordination, of the year-end Audit from the offset through to completion
- Manage the external audit - project manage the audit deliverables to ensure completed in the timeframe (by end of June)
- Coordination of audit queries
- Identifying key stakeholders and maintain appropriate engagement and communication
- Partner with the Central Tax team for advisory support
- Quality assurance and quality control
- Reporting year-end project progress using agreed reporting lines, templates and processes
- Management of escalations to the team and CFO
- Actively managing risks and issues: especially identifying risks before they become issues
- Ensure that statutory accounts comply with all statutory, legal and regulatory requirements
- Assist with ad hoc projects as required
Qualifications You will be a Qualified Accountant, who is ideally Audit trained and has industry experience. You must have led a year-end audit where you have been the main point of contact for the external auditors. Previous technical experience across all deliverables:
- Year-end statutory reporting
- Corporation tax production
- Audit liaison
You will have a strong background in delivery of projects and audits and exceptional interpersonal skills. Key to this position is the ability to develop strong, trusting and credible working relationships with multiple stakeholders quickly.

Pay range and compensation package £450 - £550 per day (depending on experience)
