Assistant Accountant - Temp to Perm - Luxury Retail & Lifestyle Brand Company - Day Rate (Equivalent to £40,000 – £45,000) - 5 Days in the Office - Immediate Start - Central London Offices

A premium luxury lifestyle and retail business is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join its finance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced, design-led retail environment operating across multiple legal entities and international markets.

The business operates within the luxury retail, wellness and fashion space, offering high-end consumer products through both e-commerce channels and prestigious physical retail partnerships.

This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who is immediately available, enjoys working on-site, and is looking for exposure to both core accounting responsibilities and systems transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable: Raising sales invoices across multiple entities and ensuring accurate billing
• Credit Control: Managing aged debtors, collections and reconciliations; supporting operations teams with invoice queries
• Accounts Payable: Posting invoices, processing payments, resolving supplier queries and maintaining aged creditor reconciliations
• Banking & Cash: Maintaining accurate banking records and performing regular bank reconciliations across multiple currencies
• Reconciliations: Supporting reconciliation of e-commerce orders to cash receipts
• Month-End Close: Assisting with journals, bookkeeping for multiple entities, intercompany reconciliations, reporting and cash flow tracking
• Audit Support: Supporting year-end audit processes with external auditors
• VAT: Assisting with VAT return preparation
• Systems Implementation: Supporting the rollout of a SAP accounting system and driving process efficiencies
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Ad Hoc & Admin: Supporting general finance and office administration tasks

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or experienced Finance Assistant
• Previous experience in Consumer/Retail a must
• Strong exposure to general ledger, month-end, VAT and bookkeeping
• Multi-currency experience is essential
• Retail or consumer goods experience is highly desirable
• Experience with Xero and/or SAP preferred
• Studying towards or holding an accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA) is advantageous
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work 5 days per week in the office
• Immediately available or on very short notice
