I am seeking a skilled and motivated Head of Tax to join a London-based Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified CTA looking to broaden their exposure and work across tax advisory and compliance, with international exposure within a dynamic and growing real estate investment firm.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
• Lead and oversee all UK and international (non-US) tax compliance for the group and the Managed Portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns, estimates, and payments across all jurisdictions, including Corporate Tax, VAT/GST, SDLT, CIS, and Payroll Taxes.
• Oversee third-party tax compliance service providers to ensure high-quality deliverables and maintain relations.
• Oversee the year-end tax provision process ensuring compliance with Pillar II legislation.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities, including leading tax audits and correspondence with HMRC and other global tax bodies.
• Maintain and enhance the tax compliance tracker and drive system improvements.
• Direct the strategy, compliance, and documentation for Global Transfer Pricing, in collaboration with the parent company.
• Govern asset-holding SPVs to ensure tax efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with the parent company compliance tax team on quarterly close and reporting.
• Utilise accounting systems effectively; hands-on experience is highly desirable.
• Provide line management and development support to a Tax Analyst.
Governance, Policy, and Process Improvement
• Monitor changes in global tax legislation, assess business impact, and communicate implications to senior stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across tax processes and contribute to the development of global tax policies and procedures.
Business Partnering and Advisory Support
• Partner with the parent company Tax teams on broader restructurings and ad-hoc strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with local and regional finance teams to support financing activities, ensuring efficient cash distribution and compliance with local withholding tax requirements.
• Provide strategic tax guidance to internal stakeholders across finance, legal, and operations.
Transactions and Structuring
• Lead tax structuring and due diligence for non-US acquisitions, dispositions, and internal reorganisations.
• Advise the business on tax implications of transactions and support investment teams with acquisition underwriting assumptions.
