Junior Commercial Manager - Advertising Services - Paying up to £30,000 + Study Support - London Offices (Temp to Perm)
We are working exclusively with a globally recognised Advertising Company who are looking for Junior Commercial Manager to join their growing team.
Reporting into the Commercial Manager and partnering closely with several departments. You will need to manage the scope of work for each project to prevent over resourcing of jobs and then analyse the profitability of each job worked on by your team, recommending actions to be taken where problems are arising.
All other commercial issues, such as fee proposals, revenue recognition and resource management will also be the responsibility of the Junior Commercial Manager.
This role is crucial to the commercial finance team and will need someone who is credible, confident in communicating and extremely organised.
Key Responsibilities:
▪ Responsible for the revenue, organic & pipeline forecasting of their assigned clients, ensuring changes & risks are communicated regularly
▪ Supporting the Senior Commercial Managers to manage finances across the larger agency clients
▪ Regular review of organic targets & phasing ensuring targets are realistic
▪ Reconciliation of month‐end revenue position to ensure all revenue that can be booked is recognised correctly
▪ Support in preparation of monthly departmental profitability reports, and advising on actions where necessary to ensure the smooth running of the departmental finances
▪ Review resource plans for each department, highlighting variances to staffing plan & advising on changes required to ensure staffing levels remain at correct levels for revenue projected
▪ Prepare and review client dashboards, ensuring action is taken where necessary & escalating any issues
▪ Review employee utilisation reports & highlighting key issues to client team leaders.
▪ Ensure contracts are adhered to on each client
▪ Ensure timely billing & close WIP management
▪ Ensuring monthly deadlines are met
▪ Develop processes to assist each account team with their differing needs dependent on their client needs.
▪ Support Sarbanes Oxley testing and external audit requests
▪ Continuous Improvement of systems & processes
▪ Ensure teams timesheets are kept up to date and help input timesheet data into the finance system when required
▪ Drive profitability on each account
▪ Reconcile time and track resource to ensure it stays within what was agreed in Scopes of Work
▪ Support on fee proposals and contract reviews
▪ Support month end reporting process
▪ Support finance team with adhoc projects
Requirements:
▪ Previous experience in a similar role ideal, or
▪ ACCA/CIMA (part qualified)
▪ Highly organised with attention to detail
▪ Great interpersonal skills / Strong communication
▪ Media or Agency background preferred but not necessary
▪ Microsoft Dynamics AX/Cognos experience useful but not necessary
▪ Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel
▪ Previous experience in a commercial analysis role an advantage
▪ Must be on immediately available or on a short notice period
