The Opportunity

Rightway Recruitment is representing a well-established fire protection contractor with a strong reputation for delivering automatic fire sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects throughout British Columbia.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to join their design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work on a wide variety of projects while collaborating closely with project managers, BIM coordinators, and field teams from design through installation.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

• Design automatic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Produce detailed installation drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD
• Review architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings to coordinate system layouts
• Verify drawings and ensure quality control throughout the design process

• Participate in BIM coordination and project modelling
• Attend coordination meetings with project managers and other trades
• Complete field surveys to support installation drawings
• Coordinate designs to minimize conflicts during construction

• Prepare material orders using HydraList
• Support project teams throughout design and construction
• Ensure drawings comply with current fire protection codes and project specifications

• Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Design, or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum 2 years of fire sprinkler design experience
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD
• Experience with Revit and BIM coordination
• HydraCAD experience is considered an asset
• Strong understanding of fire protection codes and standards
• Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle

• $70,000 – $95,000 depending on experience
