Rightway Recruitment is representing a well-established mechanical contractor in the Lower Mainland, known for delivering complex construction projects through a strong focus on planning, coordination, and execution.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring delivery aligns with safety, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable taking full ownership of project performance, leading teams, and driving both financial and operational success across large-scale mechanical projects.
Key Responsibilities The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:
Project Planning & Financial Management
- Reviewing GC-issued contracts and confirming scope alignment with estimates
- Developing and issuing project budgets and forecasting reports
- Monitoring and managing project financial performance
- Managing change orders and assessing scope impacts from RFIs, SIs, and GC communications
- Completing monthly progress billing and ensuring financial accuracy
Procurement & Subcontractor Management:
- Negotiating subcontractors and suppliers, including scope, pricing, and terms
- Issuing scope of work documentation and completing subcontractor checklists
- Coordinating with purchasing to secure competitive pricing
Project Execution & Scheduling:
- Developing and managing construction plans and labour-loaded schedules
- Coordinating with field supervision to implement labour strategies
- Tracking milestones, productivity, and schedule adherence
- Ensuring permitting and regulatory compliance
Quality, Documentation & Closeout:
- Managing shop drawing submissions and review cycles
- Ensuring all project documentation is accurate and up to date
- Supporting QA/QC processes with field teams
- Ensuring all closeout documentation is completed prior to substantial completion
Communication & Coordination:
- Facilitating communication between office and field teams
- Leading construction meetings and ensuring follow-up on action items
- Maintaining strong relationships with GCs, consultants, suppliers, and subtrades
Team Leadership & Development:
- Delegating tasks, setting timelines, and reviewing team deliverables
- Conducting regular 1:1 meetings to support and develop team members
- Managing team goals, performance reviews, and ongoing development
- Overseeing team workload, time-off requests, and overall performance
Design Development:
- Leading mechanical coordination during design development
- Aligning design intent with constructability and budget
- Supporting estimating and pricing throughout design progression
- Identifying and mitigating design risks early
- Driving BIM coordination and supporting prefabrication opportunities
- Collaborating with consultants, subtrades, and internal teams to ensure coordinated design solutions
Measures of Success:
- Projects are delivered on schedule with minimal delays
- Financial performance remains within budget targets
- Documentation is accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Strong communication and coordination across project stakeholders
- Effective leadership and development of project teams
- Balanced team workload and consistent operational performance
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Based in the Lower Mainland
- Mix of office and site-based responsibilities
- Involvement in complex, large-scale construction projects
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 base (depending on experience)
