The Opportunity
 
Rightway Recruitment is representing a well-established and respected mechanical contractor based in Burnaby. The company delivers a broad range of mechanical services across institutional, commercial, and industrial (ICI) projects throughout British Columbia, including tenant improvements and high-rise buildings.
 
Our client is known for its technical depth across HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, pumps, cooling tower retrofits, aquatherm, backflow testing, and building maintenance scopes. Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects from start to finish across ICI sectors
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and cost control
• Coordinate with GCs, consultants, and internal teams
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Support field teams to ensure quality, safety, and timelines are met
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout project lifecycle
• Provide project updates and reporting to senior leadership

• Full mechanical scope including HVAC, plumbing, and related systems
• Projects ranging from $150K to $5M

• Experience as a Project Manager within mechanical contracting
• Strong understanding of ICI construction projects
• Experience managing project financials and change orders
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
• Familiarity with project software (Spectrum is an asset, not required)
• PMP is nice to have, not required
• Basic estimating knowledge is an asset

• Hybrid role - primarily office-based with site visits as needed
• Reporting directly to the owner
• Supported by a team of 3 Project Coordinators
• Stable pipeline of projects with flexibility depending on experience

• $90,000 - $140,000 salary (depending on experience)
