Due to continued growth, they are seeking a BIM/VDC Designer to join their team at their Maple Ridge head office.
Your New Role:
As a BIM/VDC Designer, you will be responsible for the design, modelling, and coordination of mechanical systems across a range of complex projects. Working closely with the BIM Manager and project teams, you will support prefabrication and installation through accurate, high-quality modelling using Revit and associated tools.
This role will see you working across healthcare, residential, commercial, and institutional projects, contributing to both design coordination and fabrication-ready deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical system models using Revit and CAD
- Coordinate mechanical services with architectural, structural, and other building systems
- Produce spool drawings and fabrication-ready models
- Prepare drawing sheets, including sleeving and installation drawings
- Review and interpret specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings to ensure alignment with design intent
- Collaborate with Project Managers and subtrades to ensure effective coordination across projects
- Evaluate designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company practices
- Attend project meetings and support coordination discussions
- Conduct occasional site and shop visits to validate modelling accuracy and improve future workflows
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Manage workload and deadlines in line with project requirements
- Support continuous improvement and innovation in BIM processes
Qualifications & Experience: - Previous experience within the mechanical or plumbing industry is required
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is essential
- Experience with tools such as Revizto, SysQue, Stratus, and Victaulic is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Dynamo and Trimble is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
