Due to continued growth and internal evolution, they are seeking a Manager, Procurement to lead and modernize their purchasing function across multiple regions. The Opportunity:
The Manager, Procurement will be responsible for leading the Purchasing team and overseeing all procurement activities across the business. Reporting into senior leadership, this role will plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate purchasing operations while developing and implementing procurement policies and best practices company-wide. Some travel to regional offices may be required. This is not just a transactional purchasing role — it is a strategic leadership position with influence across project delivery, estimating, vendor partnerships, and systems development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Procurement Specialists
- Recruit, train, and provide ongoing performance guidance
- Promote best practices across procurement and project team
Strategic Procurement Oversight
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
- Manage the departmental budget
- Lead procurement system development and training initiatives
- Maintain and improve material pricing databases
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage vendor agreements
- Lead or oversee all major contract negotiations
- Manage supplier relationships including distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers
- Oversee supplier claims and rebate programs
- Work with vendors to secure value-added services
Project & Estimating Collaboration
- Partner with Project Managers and Estimators to ensure materials meet technical requirements and delivery timelines
- Support day-to-day pricing and purchasing needs
- Contribute to product and equipment specifications
- Identify procurement-related business opportunities
- Promote risk management and cost-control strategies across regions
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in purchasing within the electrical construction industry
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing a procurement team
- Strong experience sourcing materials, equipment, and supplies in electrical or construction environments
- Proven negotiation and risk management capability
- Experience working with procurement systems (JD Edwards considered an asset)
- Experience managing distributor and manufacturer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, project teams, and regional offices
- SCMP designation (or enrollment in a Supply Chain Management Association program) is considered an asset.

Compensation- Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000, Compensation will be commensurate with experience, leadership background, and overall fit.
