Your New Role:
 
We are seeking a Lighting Specialist to join the Electrical Projects team based in Burnaby. This role will serve as an internal consultant for lighting and lighting control systems, ensuring high standards for design, integration, and performance across various projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Recommend lighting levels and layouts for design-build and cost-saving applications.
• Design, coordinate, and re-design lighting systems as needed.
• Review bills of materials to ensure all lighting and lighting controls are accurately covered in estimates and project scopes.
• Resolve on-site issues and supplier bill of material conflicts related to lighting and lighting control.
• Provide value engineering advice, negotiate prices with manufacturer representatives and wholesalers.
• Liaise with lighting and lighting control systems manufacturers, representatives, and consultants.
• Compile lighting and lighting control system cut sheets for proposals.
• Review lighting and lighting control system purchase orders and submittal packages.

What You Need to Succeed:

• 5+ years of experience as a manufacturer's representative, lighting designer, or quotations specialist for a wholesaler.
• Experience with lighting control systems (e.g., DALI) including design, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Experience providing lighting and lighting control design assistance to consultants.
• Proficiency with lighting design software (e.g., AGi 32, DIALux).
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Relevant education or certifications in lighting design and lighting controls are strong assets.
