Company Overview:

Our client is a leader in the mining and infrastructure industry, with a strong focus on productivity and sustainability. Their advanced engineering division, based in Metro Vancouver, specializes in designing and developing heavy-duty battery-powered electric drive systems and supporting infrastructure. The team is dedicated to creating proprietary EV components at the PCB level and delivering complete turn-key systems, including battery packs, vehicle structures, a world-leading dyno, and proprietary firmware and control systems for drive motors, chargers, controllers, DC/DC converters, and battery management systems.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the successful execution of electrification projects within the organization. This role oversees projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with key business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, skilled facilitator, and strategic problem-solver with experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in engineering or electrification industries.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the execution of electrification projects according to the company’s project delivery model
• Hold ultimate responsibility for ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet all key deliverables
• Develop detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and budgets
• Organize and manage project team members, stakeholders, and resources to ensure smooth collaboration and effective communication
• Oversee project implementation, tracking progress, identifying risks, and making necessary adjustments to align with project goals
• Work closely with the engineering team to proactively address challenges, implement improvements, and foster a strong interface between departments
• Ensure that deliverables meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders, providing project updates and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure proper project closure, including final deliverables, evaluations, and comprehensive documentation

Skills and Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is considered beneficial.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is considered an asset.

Experience & Expertise:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management.
• Proven track record of managing complex, multidisciplinary projects from concept to first product delivery.
• Demonstrated success in leading project teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding and experience with project lifecycle management from initiation to closure.

Technical & Industry Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Proficiency in project management tools and software such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana, and Trello.
• Experience working in electrification is a plus.
