Facility Type: Private Healthcare Group Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview A leading private healthcare group in Abu Dhabi is currently seeking an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join its expanding specialist medical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant-level physician looking to work within a high-volume tertiary-style private healthcare environment offering advanced endoscopy services, strong multidisciplinary collaboration, and an established referral network. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive Gastroenterology care across outpatient, inpatient, and procedural settings while contributing to the continued growth of digestive health services within the organization. Clinical Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage:
Gastrointestinal and liver disorders
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
GERD and functional gastrointestinal disorders
Pancreatic and hepatobiliary conditions
Gastrointestinal bleeding and complex digestive disorders
Perform:
Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures
Upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy
Polypectomy and advanced GI interventions where applicable
Provide:
Inpatient consultations and outpatient specialist care
Long-term management plans for chronic GI conditions
Participate in:
Multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning
Endoscopy & Procedural Focus Candidates with experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
High-volume endoscopy practice
Therapeutic endoscopic procedures
ERCP and advanced endoscopy exposure (where applicable)
Management of complex GI and hepatology cases
Service Structure
Modern hospital-based Gastroenterology department
Access to:
Advanced endoscopy suites
Multidisciplinary medical and surgical teams
High-volume outpatient and inpatient referral pathways
Collaborative environment involving:
Internal Medicine
General Surgery
Oncology and Radiology services
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of patient care and clinical governance
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Contribute to CME, teaching, and mentoring activities where applicable
Support ongoing development of Gastroenterology and endoscopy services
Candidate Requirements
Tier 1 Western training preferred:
UK CCT
US Board Certification
Australian / New Zealand Fellowship
Canadian Fellowship or equivalent
Minimum 3–5 years Consultant-level experience preferred
DOH / DHA eligibility or active UAE license highly advantageous
Strong experience within tertiary or premium private healthcare settings preferred
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
