Senior Clinician – Youth Justice Mental Health
Location: South Australia (Metro Region), Australia
Salary: AUD 110,000 – 150,000/year


Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Clinician to join a specialist Youth Justice Mental Health initiative, working at the intersection of mental health, justice services, and community care. This role focuses on supporting vulnerable young people with complex psychological and behavioral needs within custodial and community settings.
Clinical Scope

• Assessment and management of:
  • Adolescent mental health disorders
  • Behavioral and conduct disorders
  • Trauma-related conditions
  • Substance misuse (AOD) in youth
• Crisis intervention and risk management
• Care planning for high-risk youth

Service Structure

• Collaboration across:
  • Youth justice services
  • Community mental health teams
  • Social services and case managers
• Multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, and clinicians

Additional Responsibilities

• Contribute to care coordination and case management
• Provide clinical input into justice-related planning
• Participate in service improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Qualification in mental health discipline (psychology, social work, nursing, or medical)
• Experience in youth mental health / forensic / community settings
• Strong risk assessment and communication skills
