Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Head of Department (HOD) – Emergency Medicine Consultant to lead a high-volume Emergency Department within a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. This strategic leadership role combines clinical excellence, trauma expertise, governance oversight, and departmental leadership to drive quality, safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide expert-level emergency medicine care and oversight for complex and high-acuity cases
• Lead, manage, and develop the Emergency Medicine department, including consultants, specialists, and clinical staff
• Oversee trauma services, emergency preparedness, and disaster management protocols
• Establish and maintain clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety standards
• Drive departmental strategy, service development, and performance improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies
• Lead morbidity & mortality meetings, audits, and clinical education programs
• Act as a key stakeholder in hospital leadership and multidisciplinary committees
Eligibility & Requirements
• Residency training completed in Australia or the USA
• Native English speaker
• Recognized Consultant qualification in Emergency Medicine
• Minimum of 5–10 years post-consultant experience, with proven leadership or HOD-level exposure
• Strong background in trauma management, clinical governance, and team leadership
• Valid or eligible DHA Consultant license
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (mandatory)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
