Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant in Fetal Medicine to join a prestigious healthcare institution in Al Ain. This role is suited for a senior clinician with extensive expertise in advanced prenatal diagnostics and high-risk pregnancy management. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering specialist fetal medicine services, leading clinical care, and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration within a culturally sensitive healthcare environment. Preference: Female consultant with Arabic language proficiency. Key Responsibilities
Provide expert consultation and management of high-risk and complex pregnancies
Perform and interpret advanced fetal diagnostic procedures, including:
Detailed fetal anomaly scans
Fetal growth assessments and Doppler studies
First- and second-trimester screening
Invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures (e.g., amniocentesis, CVS), where licensed
Offer compassionate, clear counseling to patients and families regarding fetal conditions, prognosis, and management options
Lead multidisciplinary case discussions involving obstetrics, neonatology, genetics, embryology, and pediatric subspecialties
Develop and oversee individualized care plans for complex fetal abnormalities
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, and international best practices
Mentor and supervise junior physicians, fellows, and sonographers
Participate in clinical governance, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development
Contribute to education, training, and (where applicable) research activities
Required Qualifications & Experience
Medical degree from a recognized medical school
Specialist qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology with subspecialty training in Fetal Medicine
Recognized board certification (e.g., Arab Board, UK CCT, US Board, European Board, or equivalent acceptable to DOH)
Minimum 8–10 years of post-specialist experience in fetal medicine
Eligibility for DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) Consultant licensure
Demonstrated expertise in advanced prenatal imaging and invasive diagnostic techniques
Fluency in Arabic is essential; English proficiency required
