The Role
Are you an experienced Laboratory Technician with a background in ICP instrumentation? We are looking for two enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our Metals and Minerals Laboratory based in Prescot, Knowsley.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing lab team, where accuracy, quality, and safety are at the core of everything we do. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring analytical procedures are carried out to the highest standards while supporting our ISO 17025 accredited processes.
About the Position
- Shift: 37.5 hours per week (Shifts: 6am–2pm / 1.30pm–9pm alternating, Mon–Fri)
- Contract: Full-time, permanent position
The day to day - Conduct routine analysis on metals and minerals, including both precious and base metals
- Operate standard laboratory equipment including ICP-OES, Balances and autopipettes.
- Perform sample preparation, weighing, and calculations with precision
- Assist in investigations of non-conforming results
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and calibrate equipment
- Follow strict QA protocols and support continuous improvements
The Essentials - At least 1 year of hands-on experience using ICP instrumentation
- GCSEs in English, Maths and Science
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Experience working in a team-focused laboratory setting is desirable
- Familiarity with LIMS systems is an advantage
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remain focused under pressure
