The Role
Are you a confident leader with a hands-on approach and a passion for people and the planet? We're looking for a dedicated Team Leader to join our Field Services department in Coventry. This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role, guiding a team of Sampling Technicians who carry out essential environmental monitoring and sampling for our key clients. The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel required for on-site and fieldwork duties as part of your responsibilities.
Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (including standby rota for weekends and bank holidays)
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Location: Coventry
Annual Salary: £29,690 - 39,960 per annum
Please Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken it is a requirement that satisfactory security clearance is obtained to carry out this role.
The day to day
- Leading, motivating and managing a team of field-based Sampling Technicians
- Ensuring high standards in Health & Safety, quality assurance, and team performance
- Providing hands-on support by undertaking sampling duties when needed
- Planning rotas, coordinating workloads and ensuring efficient use of time and resources
- Liaising closely with Field Services Project Managers to ensure sampling targets are met
- Overseeing the maintenance and proper use of vehicles, field equipment and PPE
- Supporting staff development through regular audits, feedback, and performance reviews
The Essentials - Proven experience managing and motivating a team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, professional attitude with the ability to work under pressure
- Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weathers
- Competent in IT and digital systems
- Able to travel across the UK as required
- Full clean UK driving licence
- A minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent field experience
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality Management systems
