The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a scientific environment and respected organisation with fundamental core values. The Food Chemistry Analyst is responsible for analysing and testing food products to ensure their safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves using various scientific methods and techniques to examine the chemical composition of food, detect contaminants, and ensure consistency in production. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday
Contract: Full Time & Permanent
Location: Clonmel
The day to day
- To perform work as allocated by Lab Manager to the high standards of quality required and to inform them in cases of doubtful validity of results.
- To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples.
- To check and enter results into ALimS system without delay.
- As a member of the team, to ensure that laboratory areas are kept tidy, especially designated areas.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures.
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times with respect to customer information.
The Essentials - Hold Third Level Qualification (Degree) in Science related discipline, ideally in Chemistry.
- Experience in laboratory testing is not essential but would be a distinct advantage
- Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word)
- Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail
- Keen interest in food science and food safety
- Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team
