The Role

Join our supportive and inclusive Inorganics team as a Laboratory Analyst on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in a committed and dynamic environment, while playing a key role in delivering high-quality scientific services.
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and excited to take on a new challenge. As a Laboratory Analyst in Potable Metals, you'll carry out important tests on water samples to measure inorganic elements, ensuring that the water meets safety standards and helping to safeguard public health. Your work will involve using state-of-the-art equipment, accurate data reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
About the Position
Shift: Sunday – Thursday
Location: Ossett, Wakefield
Contract: Fixed Term, Full-Time
The day to day
- Carry out sample analyses efficiently and accurately, following established processes and legislation.
- Respond to customer requirements with a focus on quality and timeliness.
- Document and report analytical data with precision and attention to detail.
- Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis (following screening).
- Collaborate with team members to meet departmental goals and ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, promoting a safe work environment.
The Essentials - 5 GCSEs at Grade C (or equivalent to the new Grade 4) or above, including Science, Maths, and English, plus an A-level or equivalent in a scientific subject.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures precisely.
- A genuine interest in learning and adapting to new skills and challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency with computers and relevant software applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to a shared goal.
