The Role
Are you a final-year Food Sciences, Nutrition, or related degree student, ready to take your knowledge to the next level?
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our committed Technical Services team as a Food & Non-Food Technologist! This is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience, support our retailer clients, and make a real impact in the food industry.
As a key player in our team, you will help ensure that products meet industry regulations and quality standards, while also supporting the due diligence of both food and non-food products. About the Position
Shift: Monday to Friday
Salary: £26,000
Location: Rotherham
Contract: 40 hours per week, Full-Time, Permanent
The day to day
- Using your technical knowledge to ensure product compliance with the latest regulations.
- Working closely with retailer food suppliers to manage product specifications and quality attributes.
- Collecting and analysing testing data to support marketability reports for retailers.
- Responding to technical queries from clients and preparing detailed reports.
- Preparing food samples for organoleptic testing (taste, smell, and texture analysis).
- Conducting physical, organoleptic, and appearance testing on products.
The Essentials - A degree-level qualification in Food Sciences, Nutrition, or a related scientific field (or be in the final year of your degree).
- A solid understanding of food regulations, labelling, and the food industry.
- Strong reporting and writing skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- A methodical, organised, and analytical approach, with exceptional attention to detail.
- The confidence to make well-informed decisions quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- A strong interest in the food industry and a desire to learn and grow within the sector.
