The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable individual to work as a Van Driver based in Glasgow, who is responsible, punctual and able to multitask while working in a team-oriented environment.
Candidates must have a clean driving record and an up-to-date driver's license.
You will be driving a medium wheeled Mercedes Sprinter van which you will be able to take home.
Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.30
Contract: Full Time & Permanent
Annual Salary: £11.72 / Hour
The day to day
- Driving in a safe and appropriate manner; always courteous to other road users and being a great ambassador to our brand and values.
- Due to the nature of this work you will need to ensure the temperature control of the vehicles fridge is maintained at all times.
- Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with clients and staff at ALS sites.
- Maintaining a degree of flexibility on collection runs to allow for additional requests and traffic delays.
- Accurate completion of paperwork, recording van temperatures and sample consignments.
- Daily checks, basic maintenance such as fluid top up and cleaning of the vehicle to be carried out
- Informing the Transport Manager of of any client issues or other pertinent Information
The Essentials - A full clean driving license.
- Good adherence to the rules of the road and demonstrate excellent driver behaviour standards.
- Previous experience driving medium wheel base vans.
- Have a good working knowledge of UK road networks.
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be flexible and reliable
- Self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic & friendly disposition
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to act upon information given and use initiative
- Be able to provide your own navigation however we can provide if you do not have this.
