Confidential General Manager
Location: Kansas City, MO
Reports To: CEO

Job Summary
Responsible for setting policies and operations, creating and maintaining budgets, and coordinating with local management to evaluate employees, operational performance, and efficiency improvements at a growing manufacturing site. The role supports a plant currently employing ~100 people, with infrastructure to support future growth as new business is awarded.
Local candidates preferred. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; technical background in engineering, manufacturing, tooling, or related fields strongly preferred
• 15–20 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership, ideally within a plant setting
• Minimum of 5 years at a management level
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer (no visa sponsorship available)
• Automotive experience preferred but not required
• Experience in plants involving assembly, laser cutting, welding, or metallic component manufacturing is a plus
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong financial acumen and operational analysis skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities

Essential Functions

• Oversee a plant with approximately 100 employees across multiple departments, with potential to grow headcount as business expands
• Drive plant-level performance in alignment with strategic business goals
• Manage line stops, safety incidents, and recurring defects to maintain smooth production operations
• Lead development of:
• Annual budgets, weekly forecasts, and cost controls
• Business plans and capital expenditure initiatives
• New business quoting and growth strategies
• Policies and procedures ensuring alignment with operational goals
• Asset protection protocols
• Promote and enforce a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
• Conduct internal quality and environmental audits to ensure regulatory and system compliance
• Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques and manage plant KPIs including quality, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure PC deployment across safety, performance, employee relations, and continuous improvement
• Directly oversee departmental leaders across: Maintenance, Facilities, Toolroom, Operations, Materials, Engineering, Quality, HR, IT, and Finance
• Report to corporate leadership on plant performance, challenges, and strategic needs

Work Environment

• Split between office and production floor
• Frequent interaction with employees at all levels
• Overtime as required to meet operational goals

Physical Demands

• Prolonged computer usage
• Regular presence on the manufacturing floor required
