Estimator – Job Description
Metro Detroit 
Key Responsibilities

• Accurately estimate project costs and timelines to support financial targets.
• Consistently meet or exceed financial performance objectives.
• Attend customer meetings as necessary to support project development.
• Work closely with managers to develop and review project quotations.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of quotes and associated checklists.
• Evaluate and approve contract agreements.
• Assign shop order numbers for newly awarded projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Delegate revision tasks to managers and approve updated revision numbers.
• Work with administrative staff to organize supporting documentation for revisions.
• Compile and manage all relevant drawings, sketches, and notes related to changes.
• Prepare customer documentation and invoicing packages for administrative processing.
• Ensure all updated drawings are finalized and ready for delivery.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of complex mechanical systems.

• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, including fixture construction and CNC machining.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, technical documents, and digital files.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with machine and tooling processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess client needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Flexibility to work overtime and manage varying workloads.
• Working knowledge of welding processes and mechanical systems.

• Prior experience in quoting Body-in-White (BIW) tooling and fixtures.
• Background in sectors such as defense, aerospace, or government industries.
