Electrical Engineering Manager

A leading company in the consumer products industry is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and launching the next generation of innovative products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in high-speed digital interfaces, communication technologies, system-level integration, analog power systems, illumination, user interfaces, sensors, and motors to drive design decisions and build scalable systems across a variety of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead, develop, and grow the electrical engineering team to support concurrent multi-project development.
- Establish structured best practices and product development lifecycle methodologies.
- Oversee team management, including development, coaching, and project escalations within the electrical engineering domain.
- Conduct design reviews and develop verification specifications.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers on design validation and provide breadboards for early software functionality confirmation.
- Support designs and enable scalable solutions through reference platforms and tools.
- Ensure high-quality designs are optimized for performance and cost efficiency.
- Ensure adequate staffing and skill allocation for electrical engineering activities.
- Foster a strong, high-performing team environment.
- Train and mentor team members on industry best practices, tools, and processes.
- Oversee, evaluate, and assist in the design of electrical circuits and systems from concept to production, including ideation, timing, schematic design, prototype build, testing, and production oversight.
- Recommend and manage professional development opportunities for the team.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Leadership Responsibilities: Directly supervise engineering teams, with responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning tasks, performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality guidelines. The Electrical Engineering Manager will communicate a shared vision for scalable electronic systems to support current and future technology initiatives and ensure alignment with program timelines.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- 8+ years of embedded systems experience
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- Experience in IoT consumer product design
- Knowledge of high-volume product design and development
- Strong understanding of embedded systems at a low level
- Proficiency in low-level hardware (discreet, inexpensive sensors)
- Familiarity with low-level software (bare metal on MCU, CPU registers)
- Knowledge of digital and analog components and circuits
- Experience with network protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, BLE, Wi-Fi)
- Proficiency with PCB CAD software (schematic design, PCB layout, trace routing)
- Experience with power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
- Hands-on experience with soldering and electronic tools
- Experience in test methodologies for validation and reliability
- Strong communication, initiative, and team motivation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple interactions
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred: - MS Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Experience in the mobile and desktop consumer electronics space
- Advanced knowledge of communication technologies
