Management Accountant / Senior Accountant – Aged Care

A well-established not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Brisbane.

This is a newly created role supporting financial operations across aged care programs, as well as several grant-funded initiatives. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will join a collaborative finance team and play a key role in financial reporting, analysis and operational finance support across the organisation.

The role focuses on providing forward-looking financial insight to support planning, performance and decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting support across core financial operations
• Assist with month-end processes, reconciliations and balance sheet integrity
• Analyse financial performance, variances and trends across aged care programs
• Support budgeting, forecasting and internal financial reporting
• Work closely with operational managers to provide financial insights
• Assist with financial systems support and process improvements
• Support the financial management and acquittal of government grant-funded programs
• Contribute to financial reporting for executive and governance
• requirements

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
• Previous experience working within the aged care sector- ESSENTIAL
• Exposure to both financial accounting and financial analysis / reporting
• Strong Excel and financial reporting capability
• Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and stakeholders
• Strong systems aptitude (experience with aged care finance systems advantageous but not essential)

This role would particularly suit a Senior Financial Accountant or Management Accountant within the aged care sector who is looking to step into a broader role with greater exposure to financial analysis, budgeting and operational finance.
