This role goes beyond first-line support by taking ownership of system administration tasks such as managing user accounts, permissions, updates, and routine maintenance of IT infrastructure.
In addition, the IT Support Engineer plays a key role in supporting the implementation of new systems and technologies. This includes participating in planning, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support, as well as creating and maintaining clear technical documentation and user guides. The role requires a proactive and solution-focused approach to improving IT services, minimising system downtime, and delivering an excellent user experience, while maintaining high standards of security, reliability, and compliance.
What you'll do:
- Deliver first and second-line support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, and escalating when required
- Manage user accounts, permissions, SaaS integrations, MDM, VPN, office systems, and routine system maintenance
- Support rollout, upgrades, procurement, and installation of new systems, applications, and technologies
- Conduct functional testing and maintain clear technical documentation, guides, and asset inventories
- Recommend long-term solutions, enforce IT security measures, and ensure compliance with standards
- Provide training, onboarding, and user-friendly documentation for staff and new systems
- Work with vendors and internal teams to support projects and resolve issues
What you'll bring: - 3+ years of experience working in an IT Support Engineer or similar role
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, connectivity, and device issues across desktops, laptops, mobiles, and peripherals
- The ability to administer users, groups, permissions, and security in Google Workspace; support SaaS tools in cloud-first environments
- Experience overseeing hardware lifecycle (procurement to decommissioning), asset tracking, and managing endpoints via MDM/Chrome Enterprise
- Experience supporting OS (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, iOS/Android), basic networking (VPN, Wi-Fi), and identity/SSO administration
- Support system rollouts, testing, and training, while maintaining clear user-friendly documentation and SOPs
- The skills and drive to provide approachable, user-focused support, explaining technical solutions simply and effectively, while balancing priorities, taking ownership, adapting to change, and working collaboratively to improve IT services
What you'll get: - 24/7 access to Sonder for you and your family—because your wellbeing matters
- Flex your schedule with hybrid work, flexible hours, and the freedom to work from anywhere for 4 weeks a year
- A $150 monthly allowance toward your preferred health insurance, plus exclusive Bupa discounts
- 20 weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers—we support all kinds of families
- A Learning and Development budget to fuel your growth and help you level up
