Located in Miami QLD 4220, Bar Monte is a neighbourhood Italian restaurant offering modern Italian cuisine, with a menu featuring antipasti, pasta, risotto, main courses, side dishes and desserts.
Bar Monte is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join their kitchen team and contribute to the preparation and consistent delivery of high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of Italian dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
• Planning and organising food preparation and cooking activities to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Preparing and cooking pasta, risotto, starters, mains, side dishes and other menu items as required.
• Monitoring the quality, freshness and suitability of ingredients and finished dishes.
• Contributing to menu planning and the development of dishes in line with the restaurant's Italian offering.
• Managing portion sizes and ingredient usage to maintain consistency and minimise food waste.
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with the ordering, receiving and appropriate storage of food and kitchen supplies.
• Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and consistent food preparation during service.
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and ensuring equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

About You

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and commercial kitchen operations.
• Experience preparing and cooking a range of dishes in a professional restaurant environment.
• Ability to consistently produce high-quality dishes while maintaining portioning and presentation standards.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a kitchen team.

Employment Details
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: AUD $75,000 – $85,000 per annum
