Located in Bentleigh VIC 3204, TÁVOLA is an Italian restaurant offering authentic Italian cuisine, with a menu featuring fresh pasta, risotto, antipasti, main courses, side dishes and desserts.

TÁVOLA is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join their kitchen team and contribute to the preparation and consistent delivery of high-quality Italian dishes.
Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of Italian dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
• Planning and organising food preparation and cooking activities to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Preparing and cooking pasta, risotto, antipasti, main courses, side dishes and other menu items as required.
• Monitoring the quality, freshness and suitability of ingredients and finished dishes.
• Contributing to menu planning and the development of dishes in line with the restaurant's Italian offering.
• Managing portion sizes and ingredient usage to maintain consistency and minimise food waste.
• Monitoring stock levels and coordinating the ordering, receiving and appropriate storage of food and kitchen supplies.
• Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and consistent food preparation during service.
• Providing guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking methods and presentation standards where required.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, equipment and utensils.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

About You

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef.
• Strong knowledge of Italian food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Experience preparing and cooking a range of dishes in a professional restaurant environment.
• Ability to consistently produce high-quality dishes while maintaining portioning and presentation standards.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a kitchen team.

Employment Details
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: AUD $75,000 – $95,000 per annum
