Located in Redfern NSW 2016, Regina La Pizzeria is a contemporary Italian restaurant offering a menu inspired by Italian culinary traditions, including pizzas, pasta and a range of Italian dishes.

Regina La Pizzeria is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join their kitchen team and contribute to the preparation and consistent delivery of high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of Italian dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
• Planning and organising food preparation and cooking activities to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
• Preparing and cooking pizzas, pasta, starters, mains, side dishes and other menu items as required.
• Monitoring the quality, freshness and suitability of ingredients and finished dishes throughout preparation, cooking and service.
• Contributing to menu planning and the development of dishes in line with the restaurant’s Italian culinary offering.
• Managing portion sizes, food preparation requirements and ingredient usage to maintain consistency and minimise food waste.
• Monitoring stock levels and coordinating the ordering, receiving, rotation and appropriate storage of food and kitchen supplies.
• Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure dishes are prepared accurately and delivered in a timely manner during service periods.
• Providing guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking methods, presentation standards and kitchen procedures where required.
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and ensuring food preparation areas, equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.

About You

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef.
• Strong knowledge of Italian food preparation, cooking techniques and commercial kitchen operations.
• Experience preparing and cooking a range of dishes in a professional restaurant environment.
• Ability to consistently produce high-quality dishes while maintaining established standards of flavour, portioning and presentation.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to coordinate effectively with other kitchen staff.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently when required while contributing effectively to the overall operation of the kitchen team.

Employment Details
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: AUD $75,000 – $95,000 per annum
