Manolas Brothers is one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic Continental restaurant, deli, bar and bistros, located on the Isle of Capri in Surfers Paradise seating 120 guests for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner services. The venue has a focus on Italian & Mediterranean inspired food, which is showcased on their menus and includes authentic Italian woodfired pizza.

Manolas Brothers is now looking for a skilled and professional Chef able to embrace their values and identity.

The right candidate will be responsible for:

1. Cut, mix, mash and prepare fruit and vegetables;
2. Cut, cook, grill, boil and braise various types of meat and fish;
3. Manage all kitchen sections, in order to ensure a smooth service at all time;
4. Train new staff members on cooking and plating techniques;
5. Assign tasks and duties to kitchen members;
6. Supervise purchases of ingredients and kitchen supplies;
7. Deal with waiters and other staff members, to ensure food is delivery appropriately;
8. Rotating ingredients to ensure older ones are used first;
9. Help kitchen staff members during all cooking procedures;
10. Manage kitchen pass and food orders;
11. Freeze and defrost ingredients, in accordance to what is needed for each service;
12. Check food preparations, temperatures and presentations, as well as plating and seasonings;

The right candidate will possess:

1. At least 1 year of experience as a Chef;
2. Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for clients;
3. Extremely creative;
4. Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organisational skills;
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure;

Job Type: Permanent/full-time
Salary: $79,000 - $85,000
