Tetris group is now looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team.
  
The right candidate will be responsible for:
  

• Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to support design, manufacturing, and installation processes.
• Preparing detailed layouts, calculations, and material specifications in line with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing methods based on performance, cost, and compliance considerations.
• Overseeing and coordinating fabrication activities, ensuring equipment and processes align with engineering requirements.
• Reviewing and validating job specifications, ensuring accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, and material selections prior to production.
• Designing, analysing, and improving mechanical components and systems to meet functional and operational requirements.
• Collaborating with fabrication teams to ensure welding and manufacturing processes meet engineering and quality standards.
• Supervising assembly, installation, and modification of mechanical systems and structures.
• Ensuring surface finishes, tolerances, and final outputs meet design intent and industry standards.
• Conducting inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities to verify compliance with specifications and Australian Standards.
• Applying workplace health, safety, and environmental principles in all engineering and site activities.
• Preparing and maintaining engineering documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications, and maintenance records.

About you:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Mechanical Engineer;
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for engineering calculations, modelling, and accurate material estimation.
• Proficiency in applying engineering principles to manufacturing processes, with working knowledge of fabrication methods and equipment capabilities.
• Advanced ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with CAD software and engineering tools for design, simulation, and documentation.
• Understanding of material properties and selection for mechanical design and performance optimisation.
• Ability to assess manufacturability and collaborate with workshop teams to ensure practical and efficient production outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify design improvements and optimise system performance.
• Awareness of workplace health and safety requirements, with the ability to apply safe engineering practices in design and site environments.

Job type: Permanent/full-time
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000
