YOUR NEXT COMPANY:
Powerstaff is partnering with a number of commercial builders across Adelaide, from Tier 1 through to Tier 3, who are all looking to grow their estimating teams. These are respected, well-established businesses with strong pipelines of secured and upcoming work, and they are ready to hire permanent estimators who want to build a long-term career in the South Australian market.
Whether you prefer the scale and structure of a Tier 1 or the variety and hands-on exposure of a smaller builder, there is an option to suit where you want to go next.

YOUR NEXT ROLE:
You will join a builder’s estimating team and take responsibility for preparing accurate, competitive tenders across a diverse mix of projects, including:

• High-rise and mid-rise commercial builds
• Education projects
• Healthcare projects
• Commercial fit-outs
• Light industrial projects
• DIT (Department for Infrastructure and Transport) projects

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications
• Performing quantity take-offs and preparing detailed cost estimates
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Leveling and comparing quotes to build competitive tender submissions
• Identifying scope gaps, risks and value-engineering opportunities
• Working closely with project managers, design consultants and clients through the tender process
• Contributing to tender strategy, programming and presentations
• Supporting the handover of won projects to the delivery team

ARE YOU A FIT?
You will have a minimum of 2 years estimating experience with a commercial builder in Australia but also seeking Senior Estimators as well. 
To thrive in these roles, you will bring:
✔ Hands-on experience estimating commercial construction projects
✔ Strong quantity take-off skills and solid construction knowledge
✔ Proficiency with estimating and take-off software, plus Microsoft Excel
✔ Sharp attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tender deadlines
✔ Confident communication with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
✔ A degree or diploma in construction, quantity surveying or a related field (desirable)
✔ A genuine interest in growing your career within the Adelaide market
