Electrical Project Manager | Brentwood, CA (Office-Based)
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Powerstaff is partnering with an established commercial electrical contractor that is adding a Project Manager to its Brentwood office. They deliver high-quality electrical work across office buildings, healthcare, education, mission critical, data centers, industrial and high-rise developments.

THE ROLE
You'll own commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through to final completion, keeping them safe, on schedule, on budget and built to a high standard. You'll work with clients, general contractors, engineers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors and suppliers, and you'll run the commercial, contractual, financial and operational side of several projects at once.
This is an office-based position in Brentwood. We're looking for candidates who live locally or are happy to commute to the office each day.
The role also carries a performance-based incentive program, so strong results can lift your annual earnings significantly.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage commercial electrical projects from award through to close-out
- Build and maintain budgets, schedules, forecasts and cost controls
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, consultants, field leadership and suppliers
- Buy out materials and equipment and manage subcontractor performance
- Prepare and administer contracts, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals and change orders
- Track progress, financial performance, productivity and risk
- Make sure work meets safety rules, electrical codes and company standards
- Report accurately on costs, labor, materials, schedules and forecasts
- Find ways to improve efficiency and profitability on each job
- Mentor and support Superintendents, Foremen and field teams
- Build strong client relationships that lead to repeat business
- Complete close-out, including final cost reporting and handover documentation
WHAT YOU BRING You're an experienced Electrical Project Manager with solid commercial construction knowledge, strong leadership skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ideally you have:
- 5 to 15 years in commercial electrical construction
- A track record managing commercial electrical projects from start to finish
- A strong grasp of electrical systems, construction practices, contracts and project delivery
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, scheduling, forecasting and cost control
- Solid knowledge of change orders, procurement and subcontract administration
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness and sharp problem-solving
- Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- A home base in or near Brentwood, or a willingness to commute to the office
A BONUS IF YOU HAVE - Delivered healthcare, data center, education, industrial or high-rise projects
- Used Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid or similar software
- OSHA safety certifications
WHAT YOU GET A base salary of $120,000 to $170,000 depending on experience, in a permanent full-time role. You'll also receive:
