The Opportunity
A newly established commercial building company, backed by a director with Tier 1 construction pedigree is looking for a driven Site Foreman to join the team at the very start of an exciting growth journey. This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity to make your mark, be closely mentored by experienced leadership, and grow both in the role and with the business as it expands its commercial project portfolio.
Your first project will be a $4M new build retail development located in Adelaide's northern suburbs, approximately one hour north of the CBD. It is the perfect sized project to hit the ground running, take real ownership, and demonstrate your capability.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Director, you will supervise and coordinate trade and subcontractor activity on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on program, and to a high-quality standard. You'll be hands-on when needed and play a key role in driving day-to-day site operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with the project program
- Supervise and carry out works in accordance with QA procedures, delivering a high-quality product with zero defects
- Assist the Director with short-range programming and off-site procurement coordination
- Conduct site inspections to identify and eliminate unsafe working conditions and practices
- Ensure works are performed in accordance with the project safety and environmental plans
- Collect documentation to demonstrate works have been completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and ITPs
- Report accidents, injuries and near misses promptly to the Site/Project Manager
- Ensure correct PPE and safety equipment is used at all times
- Assist in coordinating company-supplied materials and plant items including cranage, concrete, scaffolding and machine hire
- Report and make recommendations to eliminate or minimise hazards relating to working conditions or methods
- Carry out any other duties as directed by the Site or Project Manager to meet the changing needs of the project
Are you the right fit?:
You are a qualified Carpenter who takes pride in your trade and is ready to take the next step. You will also have some experience leading others.
- A background in 1st and 2nd fix carpentry with strong practical skills on commercial or retail new build projects / fit out projects
- Experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand Carpenter, or Junior Site Supervisor or a strong Leading Hand ready to make that step with a commercial builder
- The ability to read and interpret working drawings and specifications
- Strong communication skills with subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and able to identify issues and act on them
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use project management systems
- An understanding of WHS obligations and site safety requirements
- Some commercial and financial awareness
Desirable:
- Building Trade Qualification (Carpentry) Certificate III or higher
- Nationally Recognised Construction Induction (White Card)
- Current Driver's Licence
