Engineering Manager – Medical Imaging Location: Remote (North America preferred)

The Role As Engineering Manager, you will lead three agile squads (Frontend, Imaging, and Infrastructure) and guide them in delivering performant, secure, and high-quality software.
You will operate at the intersection of people leadership and technical direction — shaping architecture, strengthening engineering practices, and ensuring regulatory and quality standards are met without sacrificing innovation.
This is a remote leadership role requiring strong communication, clarity, and the ability to foster connection across distributed teams.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and inspire three cross-functional agile squads
- Guide architectural decisions and influence the evolution of the tech stack
- Champion clean, maintainable code and modern engineering standards
- Partner with Product, QA, and Leadership to align priorities and deliver value
- Strengthen secure coding practices and quality frameworks
- Drive CI/CD and automation practices using tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, and Jira
- Support cloud-native and containerized deployments (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Foster a culture of craftsmanship, curiosity, and continuous improvement
- Support engineers in professional growth and technical mastery

What You’ll Bring Experience
- 5+ years leading agile engineering teams
- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience (Java, Dart, or modern reactive frameworks such as Vue.js, React, Angular)
- Experience managing remote or distributed teams
- Proven experience delivering complex, high-performance software systems
Technical Strength
- Strong understanding of clean architecture and SOLID principles
- Experience with AWS and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and software quality standards
Bonus Experience
- Familiarity with DICOM, HL7, or FHIR
- Experience in regulated medical software environments (FDA 510(k), MDR, IEC 62304)
