About the Role
The Family Violence Prevention Program & Project Lead provides strategic leadership across Langford Aboriginal Association's (LAA) Aboriginal Family Safety portfolio. The position leads the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of culturally safe, trauma-informed prevention, early intervention and healing initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.
Working alongside Aboriginal women, men, young people, Elders and community partners, the role is responsible for ensuring all family violence prevention programs are community-led, culturally grounded and evidence-informed, while meeting funding, quality and organisational requirements.
The role provides leadership across current and future Aboriginal Family Safety programs including Women's Wellbeing, Ngalak Moorditj (youth program), Aboriginal Men's Healing initiatives and other prevention projects as LAA continues to grow.
Key features of the role include but are not limited to:
- Strategic Program Leadership: Oversee program planning, delivery, data collection, reporting, facilitator coordination and resource development.
- Aboriginal Family Safety Programs Leadership: Lead the strategic development, implementation and continuous improvement of LAA's Aboriginal Family Safety portfolio, including current and future prevention, early intervention and healing initiatives.
- Practice Leadership: Provide specialist leadership in Aboriginal family violence prevention, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice.
- Community Leadership & Support: Assist and support community participants and Facilitators engaged with the program and with program delivery.
- Program Coordination, Workforce & Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate the delivery of LAA's Aboriginal Family Safety programs, ensuring activities are delivered in accordance with approved work plans, timelines, budgets and quality standards.
- Project Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks that measure program performance, outcomes and community impact.
About The Business Langford Aboriginal Association (LAA) has a long history in Boorloo (Perth) and since its inception has provided a range of well regarded community services to the local region. LAA is currently embarking upon a significant growth and organisational development strategy that will see the business transform over the coming 12-24 months. Since the commencement of the new CEO at the beginning of the year much has already been achieved including expanding programs across Aboriginal family wellbeing, healing and early intervention and launching significant new initiatives including Koyingkeriny Boodja-k (Healing on Country) and a dedicated Maar-kool wer Yarning Centre. The workforce is growing, governance and systems are being strengthened and a significant deepening of partnerships with Aboriginal communities, Elders, government and universities has already taken place. LAA is impacting well above it's weight and will continue to do so.

Qualifications & Experience
- Equivalent demonstrated experience or tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Public Health or Counselling.

Technical Capability
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Elders, community members and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.
- Strong leadership, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, exercising initiative, sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
- High-level written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, funding documentation, correspondence and other administrative requirements to a high standard.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain accurate program documentation, records and data in accordance with organisational and funding requirements.
- Experience supporting Aboriginal children, young people and families, including facilitating referrals and connections to culturally appropriate services.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other relevant business systems).
Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal family violence prevention, trauma-informed and healing-informed practice, culturally safe service delivery, risk assessment and safety planning, Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing principles, and the policy frameworks that guide family and domestic violence prevention in Western Australia. Including but not limited to:
