About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the collection, management, monitoring and analysis of data for the organisation. This role will ensure that the organisation's data is accurate, meaningful, culturally appropriate and compliant, supporting both service delivery and reporting obligations to funding bodies including the Department of Communities and the Commonwealth.
A core responsibility of this role is to uphold and embed Aboriginal data sovereignty, ensuring that data relating to Aboriginal people, families and communities is governed, interpreted and used in ways that are culturally respectful, community-informed and aligned with self-determination.
The position combines hands-on data collection and tracking with research and evaluation capability, supporting the organisation to demonstrate outcomes, strengthen programs and inform continuous improvement.
Key features of the role include but are not limited to:
Data Collection, Monitoring and Tracking
- Lead the design, development and implementation of the organisation’s data systems and database architecture
- Establish and maintain secure, accessible and fit-for-purpose data platforms that integrate across programs, funding streams and reporting requirements
- Improve data quality, consistency, tracking and accessibility across the organisation
- Monitor and track program activity, outputs and outcomes
Data Analysis and Reporting - Develop and implement data standards, governance frameworks, policies and procedures
- Analyse program data to identify trends, outcomes and areas for improvement
- Prepare regular reports and develop dashboards for funders, CEO and Board
Research and Evaluation - Support the design, logic, frameworks and implementation of research and evaluation activities
- Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to support evaluation
- Contribute to research partnerships with universities, government and other organisations
Data Systems, Compliance and Quality - Ensure data is compliant, accurate and audit ready
- Contribute to the development of data policies, procedures and templates
Organisational Capability and Support - Support & guide staff around data issues
- Develop simple tools and templates to support consistent practice

Suitable candidates will possess the following:
Tertiary qualification or at minimum of 2 years’ experience in: - Information Technology, Data Science or social services – data collection and analysis
- Information Management or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in: - Database development and management
- Data systems within community services or human services sectors
- Working with government reporting requirements (State and/or Commonwealth)
Technical Capability - Strong skills in data collection, management, analysis and reporting
- Use of databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools
- Experience in data extraction, transformation and cleaning processes
- Ability to work with both quantitative and qualitative data
Research and Analytical Skills - Experience supporting research and evaluation activities
- Ability to interpret and analyse data to identify trends and insights
- Strong written skills to support reporting and documentation
- Ability to translate data into meaningful information for different audiences
Professional Skills & Attributes - Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively and take initiative
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to culturally safe, respectful and community-led practice
Additional requirements:
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Clearance
- Hold a current and valid Western Australian C class motor driver’s licence or equivalent
- Australian Citizenship or permanent resident of Australia
