About the Role:
As the Food Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing, building, and managing relationships across the Food and Grocery sector. You will locate and secure new sustainable sources of Food and Grocery products to meet the demands of the organisation. You will also play a pivotal role in ensuring partners view the organisation as being simple/easy to deal with and that the partnership is mutually rewarding.
The role manages the Food Sourcing Co-Ordinator Agri/Fresh and works closely with the Logistics Team and also the Network Team, to understand demand and any constraints, as well as help to work through/coordinate the collection and distribution of product.
Long term the role is fundamental and integral to the mechanics and the philosophies which allow Foodbank WA to support their welfare agencies and the local community partners through the sourcing of, and provision of, Food and Groceries to support demand and improve the health and wellbeing of people in need in WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and implementation of an Annual Food Sourcing Plan/Strategy
- Be seen as the senior point of contact for all Food & Grocery partners wishing to provide donations in WA
- Source sufficient Food & Groceries products to meet all the branches needs
- Develop, grow, maintain and maximise existing donor partnerships
- Source new donors with an emphasis on Food & Groceries products.
- Complete site visits to farms/growers, packing sheds, markets/wholesalers, manufacturing and or retailer sites/DC’s to build strong relationships to provide sustainable sourcing opportunities that benefit FBWA
- Ensure effective cooperation with Foodbank WA departments to maximize opportunities with current and potential donors
- Ensure effective liaison with Logistics and Network Teams to maximise stock distribution
Job Requirements: To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have the following:
- At least 5 years’ experience in the Food and Grocery space
- Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong project and time management skills
- Positive, friendly and outgoing attitude
- Strong customer service focus and commitment
- Contract negotiation skills
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office suite)
- Experience having responsibility for all OH&S, Foodsafe and COR Policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Foodsafe requirements
Additional Requirements: If successful for the position, be willing to obtain and provide:
-Australian Citizen/ Permanent Resident with valid Australian working rights
-Current and valid WA Drivers' License
-National Police clearance
-Ability to drive/fly to remote areas in WA as required
-Ability to lift items approximately 10-16kg weight
