About the Role
As Executive Director, People & Culture, you’ll be a strategic partner and cultural steward, helping navigate complex change while anchoring the business in values that matter. You will design and deliver impactful people strategies, coach and empower leaders, and ensure a consistent, values-aligned employee experience across a unique and dynamic group of entities.
 
You will operate with a “balcony and dancefloor” mindset being able to zoom out and think systemically while staying connected to the heartbeat of the people on the ground, building their capacity and supporting their delivery of outcomes.
 
Key outcomes include:

• Strategic people leadership across a portfolio of diverse services and entities.
• Coaching and capability building for senior leaders and the People & Culture team.
• Development and implementation of progressive HR strategies that support a high-performing, inclusive, and values-led culture.
• Expert advice to the CEO, Board, and executive team on workforce planning, leadership development, culture, and employee engagement.
• Representing the organisation with integrity and influence across sector networks and partnerships.

About You
You are an accomplished HR executive or an experienced people leader ready to take the next step into an executive-level role. You are energised by complexity and motivated by purpose, with solid values as your core. You know that great cultures don’t happen by accident, they are cultivated through courageous leadership, consistent actions, and deep listening.
 
You are a trusted advisor, a compassionate coach, and a connector of people and purpose.
 
You bring:

• 10+ years' senior experience in strategic HR leadership roles.
• A relevant tertiary qualification (HR, Business, or related field). Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
• Deep expertise in organisational development, change leadership, and employment law.
• Cultural competency and an ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds in a respectful and empowering way.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and coaching skills.
• Integrity, empathy, and a deep sense of accountability.

Bonus if you have:

• Experience in both for-purpose and corporate sectors.
• Worked with marginalised or vulnerable populations.
• Exposure to contemporary HR technology and systems.

Additional requirements:

• Current Australian drivers' licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Satisfactory Medical Clearance
• Rights to work in Australia
• COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (when mandated and required)
• The ability to obtain a Working with Children check (when required)
• The ability to obtain a 395 clearance (when required)
