With extensive industry experience, the company offers personalised travel solutions, including flights, quality accommodation, transfers and specialised holiday packages to destinations around the world. The opportunity
 
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Travel Consultant to join their team on an independent contractor basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing travel bookings, assisting clients with their travel arrangements and ensuring that all reservations are processed accurately and efficiently.
This office-based position in Newlands requires someone with strong airline ticketing and reservation knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Working hours are aligned with the UK business day, from 09:00 to 18:00, with every second Saturday included in the schedule. Saturday shifts are paid.
 
Responsibilities:

• Manage flight reservations and airline ticketing, ensuring bookings are processed accurately.
• Arrange hotel and accommodation bookings, car rentals, tours and other travel-related services.
• Process booking amendments, cancellations, refunds and ticket reissues.
• Liaise with clients, airlines, accommodation providers and other travel suppliers to coordinate travel arrangements.
• Provide professional assistance and respond to client enquiries regarding bookings and travel requirements.
• Use online booking platforms and airline reservation systems to manage and maintain reservations.
• Ensure all booking details, passenger information and travel documentation are accurate.
• Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of service.
• Identify and resolve booking-related queries and issues efficiently.
• Maintain clear and professional written and verbal communication with clients and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Travel Consultant, preferably at senior or experienced consultant level.
• Strong knowledge of airline ticketing, flight reservations and booking procedures.
• Good understanding of hotel and accommodation bookings, tours, car rentals and other travel services.
• Experience handling booking amendments, cancellations, refunds and ticket reissues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to use online booking platforms and airline reservation systems.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and apply sound judgement.
• Flexibility, a proactive approach and a genuine passion for travel.
• Ability to work UK business hours and every second Saturday.
