The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for theatre nursing to join a busy day theatre. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting surgeons and the multidisciplinary team by providing exceptional perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating theatre and ensure all equipment and instruments are available and functioning correctly.
- Scrub and assist during surgical procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
- Monitor and maintain infection prevention and control standards.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider theatre team.
- Accurately complete all clinical documentation and maintain patient records.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical policies, protocols and professional standards.
Requirements - Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
- Post Basic Qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing (essential).
- Previous experience as a Theatre Scrub Nurse.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and infection control.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced theatre environment.
