As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse Cardiothoracic Theatre to be based in George.

The opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to join a specialist cardiothoracic theatre team, delivering safe and quality nursing care in accordance with the Scope of Practice. The successful candidate will support complex cardiothoracic procedures and contribute to excellent clinical outcomes within a high-acuity theatre environment.
 
Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Identify, prevent and report clinical risks to ensure patient safety
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a supportive and professional environment
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately recorded and charged

Requirements:

• Enrolled Nurse Certificate
• Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience
• Additional experience in specialised units advantageous
• CPD courses in the speciality area beneficial
• Basic Life Support training
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control, pharmacology and nursing processes
• Strong patient assessment and documentation skills
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation and risk identification
• Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans
