The opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to join a specialist cardiothoracic theatre team, delivering safe and comprehensive nursing care in accordance with professional scope of practice. The successful candidate will work in a high-acuity operating theatre environment, supporting complex cardiothoracic procedures and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Identify, prevent and manage clinical risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a supportive and professional environment
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records
- Contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence and clinical excellence
- Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately recorded and charged
Requirements: - Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
- Postgraduate experience in an Operating Theatre with cardiothoracic exposure
- Midwifery qualification and postgraduate Operating Theatre qualification advantageous
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, pharmacology and nursing processes
- Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation and risk identification
- Basic Life Support training, with ACLS, ATLS or PALS advantageous
