As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary (Theatre) based in Nelspruit, South Africa. The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary (Theatre) is responsible for providing basic patient care and support within the operating theatre, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment. This role assists the surgical team before, during, and after procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, and attending to patients' basic comfort needs. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary plays a vital role in promoting patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative process.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a Safe Theatre Environment: Assist in preparing and maintaining a sterile, organised, and hazard-free operating area.
- Support Surgical Teams: Provide efficient assistance to surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing staff during theatre procedures.
- Promote Patient Comfort and Dignity: Ensure patients' basic needs are met before and after surgical procedures.
- Adhere to Infection Control Standards: Follow strict infection prevention measures in all theatre activities.
- Maintain Equipment Readiness: Assist with the cleaning, preparation, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment.

Requirements: - Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.
- Certificate in Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
- Theatre nursing experience or exposure will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of operating theatre procedures, instruments, and infection control principles.
- Current knowledge of health and safety regulations within a surgical environment.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
