As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Counsellor (Addiction and Psychiatric) based in Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa. The Registered Counsellor is to deliver expert treatment and care to addiction and psychiatric patients. As well as being a passionate and boundaried individual
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate group sessions in the therapeutic programme
- Conduct individual sessions with patients
- Conduct conjoint sessions with patients’ families
- Participation in all groups to gain an understanding of the programme and be able to facilitate various groups when required
- Assessment of patients
- Carry out administrative tasks
- Report writing
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary team
Requirements: - Degree in Psychology with a valid HPCSA registration
- Experience within an addiction and/or psychiatric environment/hospital
- Awareness of evidence base for interventions
- Good written and spoken English language skills
- Computer literate
