As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Neurophysiologist based in Benoni, South Africa. The Neurophysiologist is to perform a wide range of neurophysiological assessments and contribute to the overall success of our clinic. This multifaceted role encompasses clinical duties, technical expertise, patient interaction, and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and analyse neonatal, pediatric, and adult EEGs, polysomnograms, and nerve conduction studies at a tertiary hospital level.
- Conduct Polysomnography, CPAP Titration, and other neurophysiology-related procedures.
- Analyze and transmit all test data and relevant reports to the relevant parties.
- Prepare and administer EEG assessments to patients, ensuring patient comfort and understanding of procedures.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions as needed.
- Review patíent records and conduct patient interviews to gather relevant medical history.
- Record detailed observations and analyse test data to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to quality control procedures.
- Prepare information for the analysis, interpretation, and writing of reports by neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychologists, or psychiatrists.
- Manage the clinic vehicle logbook and ensure timely vehicle maintenance.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper usage of neurophysiology equipment, maintaining detailed records.
- Adhere to strict patient confidentiality and comply with POPI Act requirements.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures and equipment usage,
- Apply knowledge of organizational systems, policies, and procedures.

Requirements - A BTech degree in Clinical Technology - Specialized Category Neurophysiology.
- Current registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist - Specialized Category Neurophysiology.
- Proven experience in performing and analysing a wide range of neurophysiological tests.
- Strong technical skills in operating and maintaining neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong commitment to patient care and ethical practice.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for on-site testing when required is mandatory.
- Experience in training or mentoring junior staff is beneficial.
- Research experience and the ability to assist with academic programs and student research are desirable.
- Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
Salary is market related and travel allowance for work-related travel Location: Benoni Working hours: 8am - 6pm ( depending on workload and patients assigned for the day) and weekends as allocated.
